In the Genoese dialect, the "Signor Medico" is the one who knows how to prescribe the right remedy. Sciumegu was born from a simple idea: knitting is good for you. It slows the pace, keeps the hands busy and clears the mind.
The story
The idea was born on the motorway, during the journeys to attend the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Genoa. Between the study of the human body and a passion for yarn, a thought took shape: knitting as therapy. Knitting Therapy.
One therapy, one colour at a time
Every yarn is named after a neurotransmitter: Dopamine, Adrenaline, Serotonin, Melatonin. Every product page comes with its own package leaflet, listing dosage, active ingredient and known side effects. The tone is ironic; the rigour is real.
Hand-dyed in small batches
The skeins are hand-dyed in Ivrea, one batch at a time. For this reason, slight variations in shade between skeins are to be expected: they are the hallmark of a handcrafted product.
A growing community
The brand was born in 2026, and its first Kickstarter campaign exceeded 127% of its goal, thanks to a community of knitters who believed in the project from the very beginning.
